This 45-minute beginner Sinhala lesson is designed for children, teenagers, or adults who are visiting Sri Lanka and want to learn useful Sinhala words and phrases for everyday travel. In this fun and practical first lesson, students will learn 10–15 essential Sinhala words and simple phrases that can be used while travelling in Sri Lanka. We will practise greetings, saying thank you, asking for directions, ordering food, shopping, using transport, and communicating basic needs. Students will learn the correct pronunciation and have opportunities to practise through simple conversations and travel-based activities. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to recognise and confidently use useful Sinhala expressions in common travel situations, helping them communicate more naturally with local people and enjoy their Sri Lankan experience.
